| Q |
What type of programs does LEAPS.TV offer? |
| A |
LEAPS.TV runs on a traditional television model, even though we are 100% Internet-based. We offer broadcast, PPV and Premium PPV programs. |
| Q |
What is a LEAPS.TV broadcast program? |
| A |
A LEAPS.TV broadcast program is a web-based program, normally one hour in length, which is sponsor-paid so there is never a cost to the viewer to watch the program, just like traditional over-the-air broadcast TV programs. LEAPS.TV broadcast programs are delivered in a live version, available once on a specific date at a specific time, after which reruns are available, beginning on the Monday following the live program, 24x7 for four weeks. |
| Q |
What is a LEAPS.TV PPV program? |
| A |
A LEAPS.TV PPV program is a pay-per-view program. The viewer must pay for the program each time they view it. Just like cable television pay-per-view programs are of a more specialized nature and appeal to a smaller, more specific audience. |
| Q |
What is a LEAPS.TV Premium PPV, or PPV+, program? |
| A |
A Premium PPV program is a pay-per-view program of higher value to a specific audience and, therefore, more expensive. Premium PPV programs represent the most specialized, and smallest number, of LEAPS.TV programs. LEAPS.TV's term for premium PPV is PPV+. |
| Q |
What are the benefits of using LEAPS.TV? |
| A |
LEAPS.TV increases the transfer of timely, critical, highly focused knowledge in one hour or ninety minute increments at low or no cost and with no travel time or travel expense thereby saving agencies time and money and contributing to the efficiency of existing training programs. LEAPS.TV programs may also be incorporated into the work schedule to reduce overtime and back-fill requirements often associated with training. |
| Q |
How does LEAPS.TV work? |
| A |
LEAPS.TV comes to you via your PC over a high speed Internet connection or, optionally, over a high speed Internet connection plus a phone line. LEAPS.TV programs run right in your PC or MAC browser. The video portion - the presentation slides and multimedia content - is displayed in your browser and the audio comes out of your headphones or computer speakers or, for only the cost of a long-distance call, you can get a higher quality audio stream over a phone line, still running the video over the high speed Internet connection. |
| Q |
What’s the difference between “live” and a “rerun”? |
| A |
Think about a traditional TV show. In the “live” version of a LEAPS.TV program you are in the studio audience while a “rerun” is a recording of a program that has already occurred. What this means for the LEAPS.TV viewer is that if you attend the live presentation you will be able to ask questions in real time while viewers of reruns must submit questions via the program's online Q&A forum. In either case you will have access to all of the questions and answers from both the live and archived programs. |

How can I maximize the benefits of LEAPS.TV to my organization? |
| A |
There are numerous ways to maximize your benefits. The four ways listed below have proven to work very well in past programs:
- Appoint an Ambassador. Assign an internal liaison, sometimes called a Knowledge Transfer Agent (KTA), to be an internal ambassador for LEAPS training. This person may be a training officer, supervisor or manager but can be anyone with a passion for training and who takes responsibility for assuring that LEAPS is properly integrated into the larger organizational training plan while, at the same time, meeting individual’s training needs. The “ambassador’ would be the ideal person to coordinate items 2 and 4 below.
- Pre-program preparation. Provide pre-program reading of current articles, internal documents, policies, regulations and best practices to prepare and familiarize audience members with the information they will see as well as providing specific guidance and background on local policies and issues. When applicable LEAPS confirmations will include links to pre-program content to help you prepare for an upcoming program.
- Share the connection. A single connection to LEAPS content can be used by one person or the computer image can be projected on a screen for many people to view. The sound can be amplified through the conference room sound system or external speaker system for easier listening. Also, don’t forget that viewers can use headphones so that LEAPS content can be viewed and listened to in a shared space. Do you need an additional connection or a connection from a different location? No problem, just sign up for one, two or as many as you need. For additional connections for sponsor paid programs additional contact information will be required and there will be a fee for multiple connections for pay-per-view (PPV and PPV+) programs.
- Post-program follow-up. After the LEAPS program convene a “lunch and learn” or other formal or informal discussion group to discuss the program and the impact the topic has – or doesn’t have – on your agency, community and/or operation. Post program follow-up can also include submitting additional questions and monitoring the Q&A on the program Q&A Forum.
